To clarify that
really, really awful explanation I gave earlier, research into human aging thusfar concludes that it is the loss of these extra spacing codons which
causes the human body to age. Obviously, if one ceased to have such a
problem at some point, one wouldn't ever grow older. The Eurydiche
Tick does NOT (anyway, is not believed to) have effects which last
indefinitely. It's carriers do eventually age. But hey, a
hundred or so years at 16 isn't so-so bad... despite the fact that
afterwards, Eurydiches will usually grow older at ten times normal speed. Still... As for WHY it's called a Eurydiche Tick... I'm not a Terran geneticist. I don't know. |
