The History of Utum
Gods Remembered D&D 3e Setting.
Setting Date: Apull 10, 400 ABP [After Battle of Power]
History: Missy Muerte was born a Halfling in the year 224 PBP [Pre-Battle of Power]. Her birth was fortold by a seer of great wisdom in the Year 7241 PBP, and forshadowed by many Signs and Wonders.
Missy's birth in and of itself was an event that many remember but few knew the connection between it and her birth. For 7 days before her birth the sun did not shine, the day of her birth 3 things happened.
1- The two moons that orbit Utum; Ther and Arthoil, rained blood and obsidean black diamonds.
2- The Mystikal World Tree, which houses all the magic; and every winged and mystikal beast, burned a silver fire for 7 days.
3- The Sky became ablaze as a new sun was created [in the night sky] and the old sun went pitch black [to this very day the Obsidean Sun as it is now called still remains in the sky producing neither heat nor warmth.]
Missy was born with the magical powers of a 7th level sorceress. By the time she was 18 Missy had Mastered every sorcerer spell even known. At 24 she had Mastered the Rogue skills and the priestly necromancy spells.
Battle of Power:
Missy became so powerful so quickly that on Marsh 7th on her 24th birthday she knew she was the most powerful being on Utum. On that day, Missy preformed a 12 hour ritual that summoned her to the Gods' Realm and boldly decreed to the Gods that she was their Queen.
The Goddess of Justice; Jiane, opened her mouth to prtoest this decree. As She did Missy barely glanced at Her and Jiane became a ball of black fire snuffing out an instant later destroying her.
This action needless to say angered the Gods, as Missy assumed Jiane's power and position amoung the Gods they attacked her in force.
The Resulting battle was dubbed by sages as the Battle of Power. For 200 yearsthe sky was ablaze in an Emerald Flame. Earthquakes, Fires, and Floods wrecked the planet.
When everything was said and done and the dust cleared. Missy was the Victor; 3 gods lay missing, the others destroyed by Missy's powers. The Continents were destroyed, 5 species were exstinct and 2 new species were created.
Jiane is the only Goddess whose name was not eradicated from History.
List of Dead Species:
Red Dragons, Copper Dragons, Gnolls, Cows, and Horses.
New Species:
Chaos Dragons ~ Able to create "natural" disasters.
Aurics ~ Lizardman & 1/2 black dragon crossbreed.
