Men of the 48th,
First of all, thanks to those of you who came to Danville. For all that the event was, I felt it went very well. I look forward to Gettysburg, as I am anxious to put my newly appointed rank to use. I have been reading, and studying up on the Hardee’s tactics, and only hope that I do not forget everything that I know so far. I will do my best to be of everyone’s service, and I thank everyone for the promotion. I am hoping Gettysburg will be an event that I will not forget.

Gentleman,
It has come to my attention that the rumors are true. We will in fact be part of Pickett's Division for the assault on the Federal Center at Gettysburg this year. We will be portraying the 18th Virginia of Garnett's Brigade, Pickett's Division. Also, the First Division ANV is only committed to do one battle per day. However, the division is looking for volunteers to take part in the Saturday morning battle as well. I'm sure we'll talk about this more at Danville, but its something to keep in mind to think about.
The rest of the weekend we will portray:
Friday Evening-"McPherson's Ridge"
The 5th Alabama of O'Neal's Brigade, Rhodes' Division
Saturday Evening-"East Cemetery Hill"
The 5th Louisiana of Hayes' Brigade, Early's Division
I encourage everyone to study up on these particular actions and the units we will be portraying so that you have at least a basic knowledge of what will be taking place. I encourage you to look at the 1st Division Website as well as the Gettysburg Reenactment website for more information. Mainly, we will be going to the wall on Sunday. In my ten years as a reenactor, I only got close to the wall once, and that was two years ago, but nothing that will even come close to what will be transpiring at the 140th!
Your humble and obedient servant,
1st Sgt. Stine
