The past is only important so far as it indicates the path of progress. The child must be shown that the past consists of forward steps rather than the final stages. We glory in the freedom of religious worship guaranteed by the constitution in 1789 because of the spirit of greater toleration that we enjoy to-day. To present the past without a forward vision is to discount the future. Teachers of history realize fully that the content they emphasize to-day will soon be forgotten. They find courage for the continuance of their task in the thought that the pupil is learning to use his mind in acquiring historical information. Though the facts be forgotten, modes of mental function remain as permanent possessions. Disciplinary values refer to the effects upon the mind after the specific experiences themselves are no longer subject to ready and voluntary recall.

By educating children on the advantages of learning about God at a young age, laws of karma,etc it is and should be undertaken immediately, as it will produce a much friendlier atmosphere in the future overall in the Home, and the streets,, it will prevent young people from getting into trouble, and from any time spent in prison. The prison system does not seek to rehabilitate young people at all, it is like most corporations and businesses a place to make money and turn normal people into pawns on a giant chess board, - the excert were shedding the light on here in between - the much older books is all about how God's people are working within the worst places in the world, Prisons.......to rehabilitate and to show people there is a wonderful world within the soul.....many prisoners today are becoming aware of God who forgives them while the judicial system does not...........)
Heart change is an inner revolution that faith-based groups claim is more powerful and long lasting than any secular program. One warden of a Florida prison, citing his years of experience working in prison, explained to me that education and drug treatment alone are unsuccessful. What are job skills he said, when what a person needs are "heart skills", a thorough change from the inside that allows a prisoner to remain impervious to external circumstances. " Prisons aren't going to stop the crime problem, no matter how tough you get, because crime is the result of a breakdown of moral values. It springs from the human ❤ . We can replace a personal sin-infected moral choices with Godly Biblical values.. .... It is now well known that the United States incarceration rate is the highest in the world. What is not broadly understood is that cash strapped and overcrowded state and federal prisons are increasingly relying on religious organizations to provide educational and mental health services and to maintain order. The geographic reach of evangelicals in prison is a phenomenon of past several decades. When mainly conservative churches began to view prisons as both a problem, and a mission field.
Tom O'Connor the former head chaplain for the state of Oregon says, " Only professional chaplain and other religious services staff are in a position to have the appropriate vision, knowledge, skills, and aptitude to train and supervise a wide diversity of religious volunteers in an effective manner for correctional purposes, and in a way that maintains the non-establishment of any given religion and the separations of church and state."
This attention to the "spiritual" components of human life----rather than the "religious"----provides chaplaincy programs with legal space in Which to maneuver. Spirituality stands for something that is universal and available to all, and thus sidesteps First Amendment restrictions about religion, which can be divisive and partisan.

The notion is unsound, because two-thirds of the people in the United States do not patronize the churches, the chief reason being that during their school-days they were not taught to interest themselves in the Church. It is.not surprising that there are millions in our country who believe that the nation is suffering from the wrath of God because the people have consented to the banishment of Christ from the daily lives of their children.
