A (not so) little story written for a Valentine's Day competition at the Buck Stop (way back in 1999 or 2000)

The idea was to write yourself in a The Young Riders story where you fall in love with one of the riders.

As I hail from Wollongong, NSW, Australia; and as Wollongong did exist back before the 1860's, this was my premise. A father takes his dying daughter to the United States in a last ditch effort to save her. Disaster occurs crossing overland from San Fransisco, and they take refuge on the Shannon place in Sweetwater.

Warning, it can get a little soppy.
