It was the hardest thing Elizabeth had to go through, watching that Wraith feed on John, knowing it was within her power to stop it… if she exceeded to a terrorist’s demands. Personally, she would have gladly turned Laden over to Kolya in exchange to John; but the policies of her country... and her conscience... prevented it. But it tore her up to watch it. It felt like the Wraith was taking years from her even as it did from John. Eventually he would die though—she would live on, dead inside. She was glad it hadn’t come to that.  Like it?
