He couldn't help her. He wanted to, very much. He wanted to draw her into his arms and give her the comfort and support that she so desperately needed right now. But Jordan would not allow that. She would push him away, reject him utterly. She would never open up to him, talk to him about James, the unstable brother that she only recently found out about. She would never open up to him. Dr Macy, maybe, but not him.

He felt so helpless, wanting to comfort her; knowing she would reject it. He could only leave like she asked.
