Daniel stalked into his office. He was in a bad mood, and even Jack knew not to say anything until Daniel had had a large dose of caffeine. The bad mood had been brought about by his last trip to the infirmary. Not only had he been deprived of caffeine for the entire time there, but Janet had had the hide to suggest that Daniel should cut back on the coffee in future. There was no way that Daniel was ever going to give up his coffee, and Jack would never want him to. A caffeinated Daniel was a happy Daniel... Jack would do anything in his power to keep the man he loved happy. The fact that he had never told Daniel that he loved him didn't alter that fact.
Daniel had finally reached his office and headed straight towards his drip-filter. Jack followed warily, but he wanted to be able to watch Daniel when he took the first sip. He always thought of that particular look as Daniel's "coffee orgasm", and it never failed to cause a reaction in Jack. He liked to imagine that it was him that put that look of ecstasy on his best friend's face.
Daniel poured a cup of coffee, and then closed his eyes in anticipation of that first wonderful mouthful. He took a sip, and immediately spat it back out with a look of horror on his face. Jack was surprised, but he didn't have to wait long to find out the problem.
"I'm going to kill her...Decaf! She replaced my good coffee with Decaf!" Daniel rushed over to his small fridge to get some fresh coffee, only to find that it had been taken away also.
Jack could see the rage building in the normally mild-mannered archaeologist and he knew he had to defuse it or else the base would be looking for a new doctor.
"Daniel..." Jack waited until he looked up. "If you come with me to my office I have some of the good coffee hidden away there." He saw the spark of interest in Daniel's eyes.
"What type of coffee?" Daniel asked warily.
"The stuff from that little gourmet shop you always go to."
Daniel's eyes almost popped out of his head at that news. That coffee cost a fortune, and for Jack to have taken the time and money to go there and get some for him...
"Well what are you waiting for... lead the way." Daniel urged Jack out of his office.
Jack poured a freshly brewed cup of Daniel's favourite coffee, and handed it over to the caffeine-deprived man. Daniel grabbed at it eagerly and took a sip. The look of ecstasy on his face as he swallowed the mouthful was almost more than Jack could bear. He shifted a bit to make his pants more comfortable, but he was thoroughly enjoying watching Daniel.
The coffee cup was drained for the third time, and Daniel was looking totally blissed out. He looked up at Jack with a look of total adoration on his face.
"Thanks Jack... you know I could just about kiss you for that!"
Jack had to hold back a moan as his graphic imagination pictured him doing just that. Without really thinking about what he was going to say, Jack blurted out...
"Why don't you then?" He was shocked that he had said that aloud, but what shocked him even more was that Daniel nodded and then stepped forward with a determined look on his face. Before he could say anything, Daniel's lips were on his. It was gentle at first, but Jack soon responded with all of the passion that he had been holding back since falling in love with his best friend. The kiss deepened, and both men groaned as their tongues tangled in the age-old battle for supremacy. Their arms wrapped around each other pulling them closer together. Their groins ground together, and they were both hard. They broke apart reluctantly so that they could breathe properly.
"Wow!" Daniel managed to say.
"Wow? You're a linguist and all you can come up with is wow?" Jack questioned teasingly.
"Yep... been hanging around you too long I think," Daniel replied cheekily. Jack just kissed him again in reply to that one. When they broke apart again, Jack couldn't hold back any longer.
"I love you Daniel."
"I know... I love you too."
"What do you mean 'you know'?"
"I knew when you told me about the coffee. *You* wouldn't have gone to so much trouble just to get coffee for me unless you loved me."
When Jack looked stunned, he continued.
"You have to remember that I know you Jack."
"It seems that you know me too well sometimes."
"Not as well as I'd like to know you though." Daniel's voice was suggestive, and was accompanied by his groin pushing against Jack's. Jack bit back a moan as his blood rushed south.
"How soon will you be ready to leave here?" Jack questioned eagerly.
"I'm ready right now... take me home and make love to me Jack," He pleaded.
"Your wish is my command." Jack replied before kissing Daniel again.
They broke apart and started heading towards the door. Just before they exited, Daniel had one last thing to say.
"You know I'm not mad at Janet any more... in fact I think I should thank her for changing my coffee this one time... but if she ever tries it again..." Daniel trailed off threateningly.
"Don't worry Daniel... if she tries it again, just come to me... I'll always have coffee for you." Daniel knew that Jack was talking about more than just coffee. It was his way of telling him that he would always be there for him. Daniel felt his heart swell at Jack's commitment to him.
"I love you too Jack." He kissed him again before shoving him out the door.
"Take me home Jack."
"Always Daniel... always."
