Derailed

Track 13

You make your way through the winding streets,

a labyrinth of tales untold.

The world has a heart and quickly it beats

and inevitably the stories unfold.

You look at me with that blame in your eyes,

but the point of the things that be,

That even if I hadn’t told you lies,

you’d still find a way to blame me.

I stand here now an almost-man

the whole of the pieces that were.

I stand here now without a plan,

But with a future I can barely remember.

Alone I can handle, but regrets I can’t stand,

the words that made sense are no more.

Your hate makes me think that I’m less of a man,

though that’s easier now than before.

You look at me with that shame in your eyes,

but now I can hardly believe you.

You’ve fooled me once with your well-timed lies,

so I doubt what you say can be true.

I stand here now an almost-man

the whole of the pieces that were.

I stand here now without a plan,

But with a future I can barely remember.
