The band Radically Strapped has been around for 3 years now. The whole idea started in a small garage in South Saint Paul, Minnesota. RS was started in Late September of 2000. Josh Dahlke, having played drums in a school band, decided he wanted more out of the instrument, and decided that a band should be started. He had a friend named Mark Messier, who played guitar, and Josh immediately teamed up with him. Josh, having a tight relationship with his cousin Adam Wester, asked him to play Bass for the band. It was set. The new band would be named Radically Strapped. Quickly, they started practicing, and playing covers, looking to define a sound for their band. At first, the band tip-toed on the line of speedy pop-punk, then recording their first album (First Ditch Effort) in late 2001. Songs like “Dagger”, “Greedy”, and “In my Backyard” were the more notable songs of that album. They had begun playing shows all around the local area, and were starting to make a small name for themselves. They had sold several copies of their first release, and were starting to find a new sound that some might call “Speedy, Melodic, Emo-Core”. It sounds odd, yes, but no one talking of the band could ever quite pinpont a name for the music other than “different”.

Time came and went, and soon enough, the band had made several friends around the area. They had been put on a compilation, and oddly enough, people had started to sing along when they played. Songs like “Leaving Town”, “Showtime Blues”, “Earbleed”, and “Forgive The Rain” had now littered their playlists.

In early September of 2003, Josh Dahlke left the band. Personal Issues were the cause, and he went on to College, and to persue other projects. Mark and Adam had a choice to make. Should the band continue? Should they go on to their own new projects? No. Radically Strapped had meant to much to them, and they decided it was not worth it to quit on something they had been building for several years. Now they are playing acoustic shows around the local area, and are searching for a drummer. The music they are writing now has alot of meaning, is very emotional. and most anybody can relate to it. A new CD is being written and is on the horizon. Until then shows will be continued, and hopefully something new will show up in the near future, so Radically Strapped can rock once again.
