My Favorite Places

Below are a hodgepodge of links to some of the products and sites that I highly recommend.  Remember, what works great for me, may suck terribly for you, so beware!!!

Photo Printer
Canon's i950 is by far the best photo printer I have used, running circles around the output from my old HP970, which I will continue to use for general purpose printing (the Canon will be saved for photo printing only.
Using Canon's Photo Paper Plus or Pro, it is impossible to tell that these are printouts and not output from a good photolab.  Definitely on the "A" list.

Web Clock
This one has to be seen to be believed.

Survival Gear
Equipped To Survive™ is the most comprehensive online resource for independent reviews of survival equipment and outdoors gear, as well as survival and Search and Rescue information. Equipped To Survive™ will help you determine the best choices to prepare for anything from a hike in the park to a life threatening emergency or disaster.

Web Cam:
The very best web cam I have found yet is o the Minneapolis Startribune web site, www.startribune.com.  Click on the link for the live cam, and a window pops up with what looks like any other web cam window.  A scroll bar lets you choose from a number of cams set up throughout the city.

What's really amazing about these cams is that the detail gets sharper as you zoom in on a scene.  Try clicking and dragging a small window on any web cam shot and you can zoom in and almost read the license plates on the parked cars.
Very cool!!

www.myway.com A banner-free offshoot of Excite, MyWay wants to be your home page, and web portal, and they do a pretty good job of it.  The content is steadily growing, and the pages load super fast due to the minimal amount of graphics and lack of ads.  Worth signing up.  If you don't make it your start page, sign up and add it to your favorites.
