Below are screen shots from two of the most popular newsreaders, Outlook Express, and Xnews. The third screen shot is from the newsreader supplied with the new Mozilla browser. The same message from alt.usenet.newbies is displayed in all three programs.
Outlook Express is the easiest to use for reading text postings, and it does handle binary attachments, but not as easily as Xnews. Mozilla's newsreader is new, and does not seem as polished as the other two products, after I spend more time with it I will cover it in more detail. I hope that this guide has been helpful to you.
