Letter and Reply 03
Delivered at 1:52 pm, Friday, September 26th.
Dear Billy,
How are you doing? How’s work? Life?
Did you know that your letters are the only pieces of personal mail that I receive? Thought I’d tell you, I’m more than a bit happy when I find one waiting for me when the postman comes to my door.
MS, huh? Sounds like a good enough nickname to me. Thank you for that favor. I understand when you say that “admirer” sounds a bit out-of-place. In all honesty, I do admire you very much. But that’s not all I want to be – someone who only admires you from afar. That’s why I’ve written anyway, you know? To get to know you past all of these titles. I don’t mind being a “mystery someone” for now. In fact, I kind of like the name, really. But perhaps it’s a name that will change with time.
You are lovely! Don’t think that, because no one has said it, they aren’t thinking it every second. And I don’t just think this because I don’t know you. I find that, the more I come to know you, the more I do think you are lovely. And, I assure you, I try to keep my mind as stable as possible.
An elusive thought in the back of my mind keeps letting me know this – someday I’ll reveal myself to you. But, because of the way this thought affects my nerves, I try not to dwell on it – overly much. I’m really looking forward to getting to know you a little better in this way. That is, before I come out in the open.
Thank you as well for responding to me. I know I may not be as direct as I could be, but I’m glad you at least find my attempt interesting. Very considerate of you for saying so.
I think this letter was shorter than the last. Do you prefer shorter?
I’ll look forward to hearing back from you; watching out for the postman.
Sincerely,
MS

Dear MS,
You're not alone when you say you only receive my letters as personal mail. I get the occasional letter from my sister, but other than that, these are all I get. And I don't even get the pleasure of seeing a postmark on the envelope. Do you realize how much you're gypping me here?
Your name is still terribly unfitting, if you ask me. It's not quite... personal enough. It sounds strange to be saying I want to get more personal with someone I may or may not have ever met, but it's true. This correspondence with you is unique in many ways but really, we're just two people wanting to get to know each other better, right?
The more you call me lovely the more I blush. It's amazing that even a piece of paper can do that. But trust me, it's not a pretty sight.
I want to ask you more about yourself... where do you work, do you have a family, what are your hobbies... but in a town like Lauderville, questions such as these can quickly whittle down the options. I might as well ask you for your address. But then you would find me on your doorstep out of sheer curiosity.
I don't mind long letters, I don't mind short letters. Just know I am being completely sincere when I tell you that I look forward to your letters the entire day.
-Billy
