YOUR HIGHNESS take the stage with a sparkly explosion that has been missing from the live music scene for years. Though the temptation is to compare this Grrl fronted four-piece to similarly outfitted bands in the nineties, beware, because those shiny bits are shards of diamond plated racket and Queen Jean wields them without mercy. The set kicks off with a breathtaking stomper - I don't Mind with skull battering guitar chugs and crystal hollering from the girl who's seriously up front. Anti Personal is fired broadside. A new track Fanatic shows that this band's style is constantly mutating, beats and icy vox giving way to massive garagey choruses. The purists amongst you won't be disappointed though, as huge drum builds give way to furious yet flawless riffs. There are no clich rock-outs here, just unadulterated noise debauchery. It feels dirty, but I like it.

YOUR HIGHNESS are another female fronted four piece, far more spiky and abrasive and armed with Pixies sharpness and antipersonal thought - Jean Hare is looking and sounding great, there's a cocky confidence now, the angel is out of it's cage and their time could finally be here. There's the aggression of bands like Babes In Toyland, the razor sharp song craft of bands like Pixies, a hey you!, LOOK AT ME! swagger that demands your attention.

YOUR HIGHNESS are lead by jean, her four piece London based band, completed by guitarist Robin, Bronwen on bass guitar, and drummer, Sean, are a complete and utter song machine of a band and we love them lots. They have outragiously infectious songs with the sonic depth of the pixies, they can rip like Babes in Toyland, they're the band Elastica could have been. Robin is working with So Solid Crew this week, god knows what they'll be doing next week but all you need to concern yourself with right now is that they have bag load of songs to die for and your only problem will be choosing your favourite.... Time to go get curious, last time I looked her hair was black and they were pulling Kentish Town apart. off you go now, we're here to point the way.

YOUR HIGHNESS Worship Your Highness, but do be careful, don't get to close to that head band bitch Jean, she's the leader of her very own Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (now where did you read about that band first?). Bow down at the feet of Your Highness.

YOUR HIGHNESS The thing I like best about Your Highness is that even though the vocalist is female, it doesn't come across as 'chick-rock' but more just like ROCK with a singer that happens to be a chick. The three songs on this demo are that good old straight forward rock'n'roll. No head banging, hair flipping, no Satanic finger-symbol making, no wagging tongues in the camera. If teenage boys and girls weren't so distracted by nu-metal, this is what would fuel their ear hunger and fantasies.

YOUR HIGHNESS provided one of the recent highlights of the Fandango demobox, not least because they have one cool motherfunker of a name. Word on their press release has it that they are "a Pixies style mix of girl fronted contradictions and heavy riffs incorporating the visceral gnashings of PJ Harvey and the stylised savagery and cool attitude of Elastica."Damn, writing these things is getting easier by the week". YOUR HIGHNESS WILL BE ONSTAGE AT 8.45PM.
