BABailey's Rebel 250 Project #2
Horn Replacement Project
with the new LED brake lights working to deal with traffic from the rear,
i finally got around to implementing a project that i had been postponing all year
to deal with traffic up front, i went ahead and replaced the rebel's "tweety birdie" joke of a horn
with a standard auto rams horn type 138db low note magnum blaster -
it's a mega LOUD horn with authority - people are calling it a 'boat horn'
actually is supposed to be twice as loud as the loudest stock automotive horn
(if the package hype is to be believed)
it was only 12$ in the auto elctronics aisle at meijer's (same/same type store as wallyworld)
and since it was kinda like a black plastic lump on the side of the bike, i then went to the harley shop
and got a chrome horn cover for it - had a hell of a time convincing them it was for the rebel and no, i didn't want a sportster flat disc horn cover - i wanted a dyna greek helmet bell type cover - they were positive it wouldn't fit and i'ld be bringing it back .. finally managed to get them to give me the part i wanted by pointing to the bikes on the floor and confirming the part number in the catalog – sheesh ...
and it was a simple direct swap job
(mounting bolt off - spade plugs pull - swap horn part - spade plugs reconnect - mounting bolt back in)
HD cover looks like it belongs there - LMAO ... forget pipes - LOUD HORNS SAVE LIVES
