LIGHTING UPGRADE - TAKE TWO :

when the stock high beam burned out on my rebel - i found myself in serious need of a lighting upgrade for dark back country hiways at night - i plan to upgrade to a new headlight unit - but until i find one i like (and save the money to get it) i needed to make do in the meantime - the fog lights i had were good for flooding an area but didn't have a lot of reach for distance - so off to various auto depts i went on search of a good set of 35w spot lights rather than flood lights - finally found what i needed at TSC (tractor supply co) 35w 4" round utility lights .. they come in trapezoid beam pattern -BUT- there are replacement sealed beam bulb units avialable in both flood and spot patterns as well as the med distance trapezoid - so i got two units and one spot bulb - replace one bulb with the spot and set them up so the one trapezoid floods the foreground and the one spot hits the distance - even seems to be better than the stock highbeam was


NOTE: i can only run one set of the 35w auxillary lights in conjunction with the rebel's stock 35w low beam - even tho both sets are lit up in one pic above ... the small units are auto fog lights and flood up the area but don't reach very far and i use them primarily only when i want extra visiblity in traffic night or day ... out in the country or away from traffic that pair of TSC co 35w 4" utility lights has one set up as a spot beam (clear lense in pic above) on the right side focused towards the edge of teh road to help spot signs and nocturnal critters like possum, coons, cats, and deer (also have one of those sonic deer whistle things on the triple tree) - and the other one is set up as the normal trapezoid beam (patterned lense in pic above) on the left set to flood the area a little ahead of the stock low beam
