MR. MIYAGI!

The Karate Kid was a great movie. Miyagi was always my favorite character. When it first came out I would always quote Miyagi whenever I could, and still do. So, I'm going to make this dedication page into a list of some of Miyagi's more memorable and funny quotes...

THE WISDOM OF MIYAGI

FROM KARATE KID:
MIYAGI: Oh, Daniel-san, you too much by self, not good.
DANIEL: I'm not by myself, I'm with you.
MIYAGI: To make honey, young bee need young flower...not old prune.

MIYAGI: Smell bad, heal good.

MIYAGI: Karate come from China, 16th century, called te - hand. Much later Miyagi ancestor call Kara-te - empty hand.
DANIEL: I always thought it came from Buddist temples and stuff like that.
MIYAGI: You too much TV.

MIYAGI: No such thing bad student. Only bad teacher. Teacher say, student do.

DANIEL: Mr. Miyagee, this is great...
MIYAGI: Miya-GI.
DANIEL: Miyagi, Miyagi. Hey, what kind of belt do you have?
MIYAGI: Canvas, you like? J.C. Penney, $3.98.

MIYAGI: In Okinawa, belt mean no need rope hold up pants.

MIYAGI: Daniel-san, karate here (points to head), karate here (heart), karate never here (belt).

MIYAGI: Ready?
DANIEL: Yeah, I guess so.
MIYAGI: Daniel-san, must talk. Walk on road - walk right side, safe. Walk left side, safe. Walk middle, sooner or later, ~squish~ get squish just like grape. Here, karate same thing. Either you karate do - yes, or karate do - no. You karate do - "guess so", ~squish~ just like grape.

MIYAGI: Wax on, right hand. Wax off, left hand. Wax on, wax off. Breathe in thru nose, out mouth. Wax on, wax off. Don't forget to breathe, very important.

MIYAGI: Daniel-san, you all wet behind ear!

MIYAGI: License never replace ear, eye, brain.

DANIEL: You're the best friend I ever had.
MIYAGI: You pretty okay, too.

MIYAGI: BONZAIIII!

FROM KARATE KID 2:
DANIEL: Can you break a log like that?
MIYAGI: Don't know, never been attacked by tree.

MIYAGI: Rule number one - Karate for defense only. Rule number two - first learn rule number one.

FROM KARATE KID 3:
DANIEL: This isn't exactly fighting, you know.
MIYAGI: Not exactly ping-pong either.
