"Sometimes I snort when I laugh, and I do geeky things, so I'm really surprised to be called cool," laughs Krystal. What? She sings, writes, plays her own instruments-and hangs with the Backstreet Boys. Krystal started singing at the age 2, playing the piano at 3, and toured around the States performing in churches with her parents. Soon, her musical mom taught her how to play the flute, the guitar, and bass. She was getting her own gigs at 7. Now she's signed to the KBNHA labe. Her first single, "Supergirl," has become the theme song for the WNBA. So how does Krystal define cool? "Having the courage to be yourself at all times," she says. "It sounds so simple, doesn't it? But of course it's not."
