Renault Clio

I bought my clio in Janauary 2002 2 weeks after passing my test. I was never keen on Clio and was originally after a black ka. However I found out these are hard to come by as they are Limited Edition, then I seen this clio and went with it.

Its a 1.2 Versaille and only had 20,000 miles on the clock and the paintwork and interior was immaculate as it was an ex company car. It was totally bog standard when I first got it, with the most ugliest looking wheel trims you could imagine - which I made worse with all my hitting the kerbs. After 4 weeks I decided to start looking for some alloys. I knew I wanted something out of the Mille Miglia range but I couldnt decide between the actions or the spiders. Eventually I decided on teh spiders. (I seen a clio the week before with actions on it, and it just didnt look right). I ordered them from tyresave.co.uk, however they notified me that the spiders were not in stock and would take up to 10 weeks to come in stock, but they would give me the Evo's for the same price. I really liked the Evo before but they were so expensive I didnt even bother looking at them. Tyresave are next day delivery and right enough they arrived the next day fitted to Goodyear F1's and I got the whole package for £650 due to the spiders not being in stock and a 20% discount as a friend had reccomended Tyresave to me. The cost of them would of been just under £1000.

In the months of February/March I went on abit of a shopping spree for my car. I bought new car mats the Maxpower ones, a new gear nob and gaiter, a spoiler which I got for £79 from Passionmotorsport looks much better than standard spoilers for a clio, I have a Saxo VTR Standard Spoiler on my clio at the moment and it is a vast improvement. I also bought some Renault mud flaps, and a sun strip (which I later ripped off).

I bought some Kenwood 6x9's and a Sony head unit however I was never keen on a cd player and always wanted a mini disc player, so a month later I bought a Sony Md player and sold the cd player. I also put in 540watt 4 channel amp, and powering my kenwood speakers and my pioneer sub. I replaced the standard front speakers as I had blown them well and truly and replaced them with a set of sony 13" speakers with built in tweeter, as I thought all the sound was coming from the back. However it has not made a difference as the back speakers are 3x more powerful than the front ones, but the tweeters make an improvement to the sharpness and quality of the sound.
