of the Manor of Rochdale in 1808. While residing at Hopwood
Hall he worked on his most famous poem "Childe Harolde".

Steve
Coogan went to the nearby Cardinal Langley School. He
is shortly to appear in a new film on TV about the Madchester
music scene. He will play the part of Anthony H Wilson -
the Granada TV presenter. The latter attended De La Salle
in Salford. Fellow comedian John Thomson was seen today
filming on the nearby Langley estate. This was for a new
