Room for Rent

5.5 on Esplanade Avenue, in the Plateau

The room is located in a two-floor 5.5 (approximately 1,600 square feet in total) located at the corner of Esplanade and Mont-Royal in the Plateau.  The apartment comes fully equipped with a full-functioning kitchen (including dishwasher), washer and dryer, two bathrooms, a fireplace, and two balconies (one of which would be your own private balcony).  Your room would be the largest of the three.  It has a bay window (which can be used as a quiet sitting area) that overlooks the courtyard and Parc Jeanne Mance, a balcony, and a large closet with an organizer.  There is also the option to buy the furniture (all purchased within the past two years, from IKEA), if you do not have any.

The apartment is fully equipped with high speed cable internet, phone with unlimited long distance (Canada/US), and digital cable television.

In addition to the above, the apartment is in a fantastic neighbourhood.  The Plateau, considered to be one of the hottest neighbourhoods in North America, is home to countless bars, restaurants, and more.  A large Provigo grocery store is located, literally, across the street from the apartment.  You would be only seconds away from great shops on Mont-Royal and the bars of Saint-Laurent.  Two of the best breakfast places in town are within a block of the apartment.

In addition, the apartment is only a 15-minute walk from McGill.  Additionally, you can buy a monthly student pass for the bus (~$30) which cuts that time down in half.  Buses run all night along Parc Avenue, which is a block from the apartment.

You would be living with two roommates (both female), both McGill students.

Your monthly rent would be $540/month, plus utilities, which adds another $20-30/month.  You will not find any comparable apartment at this price.

Move-in date is somewhat negotiable, but I would prefer to find someone who will take it starting June 1st, 2004.  (You would technically be subletting it from me for the month of June, then you would take over the lease July 1st.)

Please note: this is NOT a summer sublet.
