Shiver me timbers
Big Reverser displays a method for creating EX class coasters from older style coasters. The Wooden Reverser will crash if the track corners too fast, so the quickest method to EX class - the fast, flat turn - is excluded. Of course, no inversions are possible. The remaining techniques for increasing intensity are increasing the track length and the number of drops. Fortunately these techniques work with the Wooden Reverser. It took 4,767 feet of track, 25 drops, and two lift hills to get the intensity to the point where EX class peeps are willing to ride it. For all that, a few of the most discriminating EX peeps will seek more intensity elsewhere. I was concerned about crashes with this coaster, so I stress tested it several times. Big Reverser's only crash in three tests came after 23 years of operation, well exceeding my 10 year benchmark. Excitement: 6.83 |
