A Steeplechase with cars
The Soap Derby coaster type uses the Steeplechase track type with a different car. While it is true that changing cars alters the performance characteristics of the coaster, the Soap Box Derby Racer is still a good example of a coaster that should not exist as an independent type. That said, we're stuck with it. The one coaster design of this type that comes with the game, Production Line, is a tiny thing, with only five cars. Soap Box Racer 20 x 6 features 12 cars, yet costs only 25% more. Although the coaster is modest in size, and appears relatively simple, it was quite difficult to "tune up" to the level of performance that I achieved within a modest package. The "head chopper" effects delivered by the exit and entrance give excitement a boost. This coaster's apparent simplicity is deceptive.
