Wooden Wild Mine Racer 14 x 6 |

Not just a mouse
The RCT2 forums around the internet have been filled with complaints that RCT2 increased the number of coasters compared to RCT1 in a rather cheap way - by making multiple coasters where the only difference is the cars. I agree that this a marketing ploy, but the rationale for the splits is justifiable in some cases. One justifiable case is the wooden mouse/wooden wild mine ride. I started creating a wooden wild mine ride by copying the track design of a wooden mouse. When I ran the mine ride version with two-car trains, the intensity of the ride went through the roof. The mine trains are heavier than mouse cars, and using a train really builds up momentum. I anticipate that the heavier mine cars will quickly wear out a high-intensity track, leading to lower reliability. Another point: If Wooden Wild Mine Racer 14 x 6 is run with single car mine trains, the excitement falls by more than half - from 6.21 to 3.01. My conclusion is that unique track designs are required for these different car/train configurations. Wooden Wild Mine Racer 14 x 6 carries up to 32 guests at a time, and squeezes 1660 feet of track into its tiny footprint. Mini Miner, the only coaster of this type that comes with the game, carries only 10 guests at a time, despite having a larger footprint. Excitement: 6.21 |
