This is the back of Half Dome. You can see this vantage point from the John Muir Trail on the way to Nevada Falls.

This is Big Oak Flat. There was a huge fire some years back that destoyed the forest. I like it. They say it's good for the forest because it promotes new growth of Redwoods which need intense heat for their seeds to start up.

This is a big granite rock that I stopped to admire on the way to Nevada Falls. You can't really see how big the rock is, but to put it in perspective, if I were to walk towards the rock, my head would be well underneath the green leaves.

This is El Capitan (far right) and it's waterfall.

Half Dome in late afternoon, shadows creeping in.

Look out!!! It's a mountain lion!!! This picture was taken at the Nature Center at the Happy Isles. Here you can find many exciting and informative exhibits designed to appeal to adults and children. I really liked it. You can learn about the different animals that live in Yosemite, learn to ID their claw marks, their way of marking their territory, and many other interesting factoids.

Nevada Falls in all it's glory. I didn't take any pix of the lower portion of the falls because I've done it so many times already. It's really not that great of a shot. There is a bridge that goes over the water where you can take in a really nice view.

I like this picture. It gives me a great sense of inspiration. The beautiful pristine blue sky with the sun raining down...the trees are pointing towards the heavens as is the mountain. This shot taken on the way to Nevada Falls

Another shot taken on the way to Nevada Falls.

Merced Grove - another site to behold in Yosemite Valley. You cannot see them here, but there were 3 or 4 deer grazing in plain view of passersby around 7:00 p.m later that afternoon. I was very surprised. Normally the deer are quite shy toward people, but they seemed to enjoy their company as they were only a few feet away.

View of the Valley as you make your way down 120.

The Valley

This is the view from inspiration point. You can see Half Dome and the Valley and a waterfall all in one picture, very nice.
