My Concert Experiences
OMG!!!!
I have sooooo much to update this on!!!
Nov. 1, 2002: SALIVA @ the Canyon Club, Dallas, TX. Awesome, awesome, awesome!! Theory of a Deadman and Audiovent opened for them. I still realy dont like Audiovent, but I def. could get into T.O.A.D. They were pretty righteous. It seemed like forever between when Audiovent left the stage and Saliva came on. Of course, we were trying to get mr. monkey bubble butt to scootch over, but he thrusted his elbows down the rail as far as he could and kept swaying his butt. I swear, I wanted to do the "beep! beep! beep! beep!" 18-wheeler back up sound everytime he moved it, but I refrained. I finally made it up to the front, and michelle got right behind me and butt-boy. Then it happened! The room to the bottom stage left side opened up and out walked some of Saliva. Lights started dimming and we could see Paul walk up to his drum set. We started screaming. Then we see, Wayne then Dave, then Josey and then finally Chris and...if you are a fan...you recognize it right before it hits....CLICK CLICK BOOM!! They busted into an awesome, but short, but still awesome set. Wayne did some totally gnarly solos! I had never heard him so into them, just rocking them out totally!! sigh* I got some great pics! Wanna know the set listing? huh, do ya?
We finally got michelle as close to the front as possible but I wanted to kill bubble butt b/c we still cant figure out why he was there. He was head banging, he wasnt singing, he just looked. Why the hell are you gonna go to a show if you dont know the head band? Or, even better, you can go to the show and stand up front for the bands you like, but when the last band comes on and you dont like them, MOVE!! Let a real fan up there! ugh. sorry, I feel better now. Just needed to vent. After the show, Michelle, Scott, Dave, and I went around to her car, put away some stuff and got ready with our cameras, and autograph "411". We got to meet all the guys and got pictures with all of them, but Paul. (he was..um...busy on the bus. but he did sign for us!) It was an awesome end to an awesome show. Wayne got his email from Vickie, Michelle got her bear hug from Josey, I got pics with all the guys, and we all lived happily ever after. The End! (lol, wink*)
On Oct. 31, 2002, I FINALLY GOT TO SEE KORN!!! They came to Dallas, TX with the Pop Sux Tour and played at 97.1's Freaker's Ball. I wish I could have taken pictures! Flip, Trust Co., Blindside and DISTURBED (eee!!) opened for them. We got there right at the beginning of Disrtubed's set. It was great! I shed a tear during voices (of course) and they totally rocked the house, 'specially when members of Pantera joined them on stage for their final number, Respect. It was awesome. Now lemme tell ya, when KoRn walked on stage I busted out with a tear. The band that I have loved for soooo many years, helped me through sooo much shit, and I finally got to see them!! I couldnt believe it! Of course, I also started laughing, b/c they all walked out wearing Stetsons, wranglers, boots, and a kicker shirt. It was hilarious. I sang my heart out to them, my voice had started cracking, and then it happened. They walked off stage to get ready for their encore. Everyone was banging on their seats, KoRn! KoRn! KoRn! sigh* i was wondering what was taking them so long to get ready for it?!?! Then the lights dimmed back down and then HE walked out playing IT. Jonathon Davis walked out playing his bagpipes. That did it! I cried. They ended their show with Shoots-n-ladders and Got The Life. It was definitely a show I will remember for a long long time!

KORN, DISTURBED Celebrate Halloween On Stage - Nov. 6, 2002
KORN dressed as cowboys and performed a country rendition of "Here To Stay" during their Halloween night performance in Dallas, Texas on the Pop Sux! tour. Meanwhile, opening act DISTURBED came dressed as KORN and played a rendition of the classic KORN tune, "Blind", as part of their regular set. Vocalist David Draiman and co. then got PANTERA guitarist Dimebag Darrell and drummer Vinnie Paul to come out on stage and join them for a tune.
Well, Oct. 27, 2002 marked the 10th Buzzfest, for 94.5 the buzz. I couldnt belive there had been so many of them already!! And Saliva was asked to play at two of them, this one being the second. They had a great set up of bands, but none that I had to really, really see except for Saliva (of course). Here's who all played:
SIDE STAGE:
Hometown Hero
H2O
The Exies
The Used
OK GO
Seether
Sugarcult
MAIN STAGE:
Greenwheel
Earshot
Audiovent
Saliva
Hoobastank
Boxcar Racer
Everclear
We sat through Greenwheel, I always sing along with Earshot, I sang the two Audiovent songs I know, we stood for Saliva's set, then before their last two songs, me and Claudia went to wait in line to meet Saliva (again for me, and her first time). Cherish and Josh found us as we were waiting in line. We were sooo stoked waiting there. Me and Cherish had on our purple star wrist bands, the black charlie-angel lookalike Saliva shirts, and I had on my Saliva necklace. When we got up there, I put down the shirt for them to sign and Paul took away signing it. Meanwhile Wayne signed the dude's shirts ahead of me, and looked my way and said.."HEY!!!!" Took my hand, and we started talking again. It was a short 2 minute coversation, but he did remember me and was glad i kept in touch with Vickie. Then it was all Josey's turn to sign my shirt, and i went weak in the knees. (I hate when i do that). Then Dave signs it, passes it to Chris and then I am done and woohoo! Wayne remembered me. I was totally stoked. Claudia was stoked b/c she got to meet them and Cherish got her hug from Chris again. He remembered her too! I hope she knows to be careful! She doesnt need to piss off Chris' fiancee! Then, we just stood there, waiting for them to leave..hoobastank was on stage and i didnt care, me and Cherish refused to leave until the guys did. Then Cherish and Josh walked off and Me and Claudia got a pretzel, and went to watch Seether, but then decided that Seether wasnt that good live, so we went back to our seats, b/c I wanted to catch Everclear, but then we decided that we couldnt stomach sitting through Boxcar Racer, so we left. It was great time. I got my Buzzfest X shirt signed, and I got their new tour shirt. Claudia got to meet them, so mission Saliva accomplished!
On June 7, 2002, Static-X came to Houston for their latest tour!!! They came with Adema, Earshot, Audiovent and guess who opened?!? Tony Campos and Dino Cavares (dude from fear factory) have a side project (or for Dino, a project) and it was all spanish screaming! they prolly told us we could all rot in hell or something. It was good though! Audiovent is from California and looked like Incubus, but more punkish! And i do mean literally looked like Incubus!! During the last song, the lead singer came down to the front of the mosh pit and kissed A GUY!!!! i swear the whole audience got quiet! i thought it was freakin' funny, but oh well. Earshot was ok, since I only know one song cant really judge them to harshly, but i wouldnt mind seeing them in concert again! ADEMA!! yummy - marky!!! he took his shirt off halfway through their set!! woowoo!! they were good, even better then buzzfest!! AND THEN STATIC-X!! I LOVE TRIPP! remember him! i met him at FVT!! sigh* i loved them! i had to leave through half their set b/c i couldnt breathe b/c the dude in front of me, whom i was hugging on to quite enjoyably tried to stop crowd surfers from falling on me and he gave out and 6! yes 6! ppl landed on me!!! Sigh* none of my pictures came out either!!!
ON 03/14/02 I got to see Saliva! MY BOYS CAME TO H-TOWN!! That afternoon they had a meet-n-greet and I used my break time, and then some, to meet the guys...I couldnt think of a damn thing to say but that's kewl! Chris (the guitarist) slapped my friend Cherish's bootie, so she was all smiles and RED! That night Cherish and I went to their show. It was 21 and up so Cherish waited outside with some friends and listened by the gate. I had the pleasure of being right infront of the stage to the left. In front of Wayne (the other guitarist). He is sooo kickass! Anyways..I sprained my neck from head banging and the ringing in my ears won't stop, but hey! If I gotta go deaf, it sure as hell better be to Saliva!! ;) During the show, Chris kept coming over to me and we butted fists and he kept smiling at me and then he came over in the middle of a song and planted a kiss on my forehead!! I was like "Holy Shit!" (hey, the clock says 420..kewl..oh, sorry) anyways, I was all psyched. Wayne and Chris kept \__/'ing me and finally during "Your Disease", Josey came over to our side and side and stood infront of the guy right next to me, so I got to touch JOSEY SCOTT!!! woo-hoo!! Anyways, after that they left the stage for good. OH! Here's their set list for the night:
Click Click Boom
Superstar
After Me
Pride (new song from their new CD "Back into Your System"
Doperide (my personal fave)
Back into Your System (new song, title track, new CD)
Superstar 2 (new song again)
Lackluster
Bleed (new song)
Musta Been
Beg
Raise Up (new song)
Then they "left" the stage leaving the audience wanting more! We all chanted USA! USA! USA!!!! So kickass!! Then they came back up and played:
Blind (new song)
Your Disease
A great finish to a great show! You guys did an awesome show!!!! You kickass! Then after the show was over, I found three fellow spitheads, 2 from Dallas and 1 from Delaware, and we were totally hyped from the show! SO, Kitty, Michelle, and Jen: HEYY!!. Okay, back to the story..I ended up with a set list that I got autographed, a letter "S" I got autographed from the meet-n-greet, one of Chris' pics, and an assload of pictures! EE!!! After we got all the autographs, I had to find Wayne so he could call his friend Vicky (using my cell phone :) and me, Michelle, Jen, and Kitty ended up in the bar with Chris and Josey (the "after party") and that's when I talked to Josey (and slipped on a name, but he didnt care). This is the best part!!!!:
I HUGGED AND KISSED JOSEY SCOTT!! Yuppers, I kissed him on the cheek and on the mouth ( and lemme tell ya, there was no speeding that one along!) Their music means so much to me and damn...he is such a freakin' hottie!! well, I need to pick up my pictures and I promise I will put them up on my Saliva page (link at the bottom!) !Ciao Dudes!
On 11/27 I finally got to see Sum 41!!! My boys were in town!!! WOO-HOO!!!! I LOVE SUM!!
The GOB and the Vandals opened for them and they kick sooooo much butt. I had never heard of the GOB b4, but they have like 3 cds out, soo... and the Vandals, I had seen at a Warped Tour one year. Both kick ass shows, though Warren, you need to shave your...uh...butt. Yeah, a tad bit hairy dude. :-P I will have my pictures from the show up soon enuf, but OMG!!! We got to #s at 400, 4 hours early and damn! it was worth it!!!! Front row seats, I touched Dave, and I got a free shirt!! so EEE!!! :) ASAP with the pictures, though, 'k?!
Well, on 11/17, the first annual fall Buzzfest came to the Woodlands, and it was pretty kickass. Me and Clowd got there and the first thing we did was get Remy Zero's autograph.(a good sign) Then we listened to them play and they were okay. We met up with my friend Jessica and her bro(yea!). The line up was:
Main Stage:
Remy Zero
The Calling
Joydrop :)
Tantric
Alien Ant Farm :)
Saliva :)
Nickelback :)
Fuel
Side Stage:
Pressure 4-5
The Apex Theory :)
h4>Transmatic
Default
8 Stops 7
Bliss 66
Instead of watching The Calling, we waited in line for The APex Theory's autograph, which pissed me off, b/c we had to wait even longer, so that the singer could "take a shower". Yeah, sure....is that what they call groupies and drugs now? Joydrop was good..even better then when I saw her in 1999. Tantric got two big thumbs down from me. They were a very big disapointment. Alien Ant Farm was freaking hilarious. Love those guys! Saliva..OMZ!! I had to at least be as close as possible to see Josey Scott (for you uninformed saliva fans, the way too hot singer!), so me and Clowd trooped down the lawn which was basically nothing but mud and we ended up in front of the so-called mosh pit. It was too damn muddy to do anything b/c ppl were sliding downhill instead of staying up. But hey! I got to sing along with Josey and that wonderful eye-candy of a man! Then came Nickelback!! 'Credible Kick ass set, lemme tell ya. I swear, everything to him is sex and drugs, but then everything to everyone there was sex and drugs. They played their asses off and the show was awesome!! Then, after they played "how you remind me", thier close, we decided that we would rather beat traffic then to stay for Fuel,so we left. (admit, you are sick of hearing Fuel on the radio too). I am definitely a Buzzfest Chick now (with a sunburn to prove it!) See you guys next year!!
On 11/7, I went to Dallas to see the Family Values Tour. OMG!! Kick ass show, lemme tell ya!
I HUGGED TRIPP REX EISEN!!
Sorry, I still can't believe it and its been a couple of days. Anyways, about the concert, I have never heard of Deadsy before (sorry guys) but they seemed pretty good. The speakers werent the best of quality, but I will prolly buy their cd anyway. Next up was Static-X! Now, I may not act like a huge fan of them, but when i met them in 2000 (minus Tripp), I fell in love with them. Now, they are back, better then ever. Tony is like a freaking Mexican jumping bean, Ken is still pounding out kick ass drum beats, Wayne is still the greatest screamer singer I have ever heard, and Tripp...well, Tripp is just God. ;) Now, after they played their set (with "Push It" as the closer, yea!), Linkin Park came on. O..M..G..Lemme tell ya. There are very few bands who sound like their albums, and Linkin Park is definitely one of them. I lost my voice during their set. I swear, I couldn't hear them half the time, because the whole crowd was just singing along with them. Loved it. Now. Next was my baby Aaron. Staind kicked ass. Yes, "Break the Cycle" is softer then "Dysfunction", but you know what? If you don't like it, shove it up your @ss!! They played all their songs off of "Break the Cycle" and I cried like the fool I am during Been Awhile, Fade, and Outside (I love you James! You my dawg!) Then...STP came on. I just wanted to see what their stage setup looked like, and when I saw it, I looked at Claud and we nodded and left. I HATE STP! It was a damn good thing we did, because if we would have stayed, then I wouldn't have met Tripp!
