It's a sunny day as Sonic, Amy, and Tails are walking along the shoreline of South Island when out of nowhere comes Dr. Robotnik in his Egg-O-Matic!  He issues a challenge to the heros: A race against Sonic and company in the ruins of the zones where he and the blue blur first met in the very first Sonic game!  The winner of the race gets a Chaos Emerald, which can only be earned when reaching first place!  But it won't be easy, for Eggman's turned several parts of the old zones into a raceway and he's got plans for those emeralds, and they don't envolve Sonic!  So its up to Sonic, Tails, and Amy to stop Robotnik by beating him in what will become the first annual "Chaos Grand Prix"!

There are three Grand Prix mode: Green Chaos, the easiest one, Yellow Chaos, which is at the moderate level, and Red Chaos, which is the hardest.  Each mode has six race courses, which are actually the zones from Sonic 1.   You have to come in first place to get the Emerald for each course.
