Who the fuck are they?
Argy Bargy formed in late 1992,with the line up consisting of :Jon(vocals),Dustin(drums)Stuart(guitar),Carl(bass)& Kev(guitar).They recorded their first demo called the 'Turnpike tapes' in early 93,and played their first gig at the Stick of rock,East London in March the same year.The bands second gig was the 'Carry on oi! festival in Chelmsford,and was the last with this line up as Stuart,Kev and Carl decided to leave.Daryl Smith was bought in on guitar and Dustins friend Mark on Bass,and so began the second line up.The band then recorded 4 tracks for the 'Oi the new breed' compilation,and also opened for the 'Fuck reading' Punk fest in Brixton.From then on the band played regularly around the country and also managed to visit Germany and Belgium.The second line up played their last gig at the Dublin castle,so in steps Lol Proctor on bass and the band signed up to Step 1 records and released their debut lp 'Drink,drugs,football thugs' in 1995.This line up stayed steady until 2001,with regular gigs home and abroad and appearing on various compilations along the way.Lol left in 2001 and was replaced by Herve of Gundog/Deadline fame and line up #4 played their debut gig at the White horse in High Wycombe supporting the Crack.Since then the band have released another lp on 'Captain oi!' and have gigged constanly,including numerous appearences at the HITS punk festivals.The current line up is :Jon (vocals),Daryl(guitar),Herve(bass) & Dustin(drums)and they are workin on various split cd's with the likes of Agnostic front and Discipline....Not bad for a bloody Watford fan!
