Jeremy Marquette (no relation to Shawnda) was born sometime in the 1960's
at the London Zoo
to a pair of orangutans placed together in a cage in order for zoologists
to study the mating rituals
of the species. An only child, Jeremy realized his vocal abilities
at an early age when he used to sing
himself to sleep with lullabies from some of Disney's animated classics,
such as Peter Pan.
During his teenage years, he left the London Zoo and travelled to New
York, where he
studied vocal techniques and theatre at NYU with a scholarship from
the UMCF
(United Monkey College Fund). He quickly dove into the theatre
circuit, eventually
landing an off-Broadway role in the cult classic "The Rocky Balboa
Picture Show," in which
Jeremy portrayed Rocky's pet orangutan and faithful sidekick.
Unfortunately, the show lasted
only two weeks and was cancelled due to lack of interest. However,
Jeremy picked himself
back up and landed the lead role in How to Suceed in Monkey Business
Without Really Trying,
which would catapult him into Broadway's limelight. The show
was a staple of NYC's Majestic
Theater for the next eight months, and Jeremy had finally hit the big
time. Unfortulately, his fame
would come with a price. He began endulging himself with everything
fame had to offer...
sex, drugs, monkey business. Within three months, he had gained
sixty pounds and enpregnated
three young showgirls. He had also become addicted to amphetamines
and cough syrup. Drink
and drugs were beginning to take their toll on his voice, and pretty
soon the phone stopped ringing.
He checked in and out of rehab for the next year, only to stumble back
to his vices, until finally he
met his soul mate, a young little chimp named Lola. Almost immediately,
the pair became inseperable,
and they began travelling across the country and performing at open
mic nights in various bars and
night clubs. Jeremy and Lola did this for almost seven years,
when fate brought them to Leesport, PA.
One Saturday night, Jeremy was performing at the Village Tavern, and
Tommy, Eddie, Ffej and Reabuck
happened to be in the audience and heard Jeremy's rendition of "How
Much is that Doggie in the Window?"
The were awestruck! Immediately after his spine-tingling performance,
they asked Jeremy to join
Right Turn Clyde. He was hesitant at first, but when the band
threatened him with a hairdryer, he
agreed to join the band. Well, there you have it...the story
of Right Turn Clyde!
