R-TYPE DELTA is
the most recent R-TYPE installment and easily one of the best games on the
Playstation. It has truly adapted to the console and clearly defines how 2D
games can make that jump to 3D with beautiful ease.
Game play

Not the kind of game you’ll regret buying. Robot fish leap out to take a bite,
huge snakes tear up cities and a few old friends turn up to have a go near the
end. Then with the two added ships, another hidden and an entire gallery to
unlock, you’ll be shooting the Bydo to hell and loving it! The only minor
thing I found wrong with it was the lack of a save ability. It’s very, very
hard.

Sound

Not the music you’d expect from an R-TYPE game (although it certainly grows on
you). Also, by going underwater in the second level the music gets muffled, just
like going underwater in real life. Genius!
The sounds are pretty good as well, creatures scream and now explode in many
different ways (the bosses usually in a fire off ash and volcanic bangs).
