19th: Charles Henderson (I) - Composer. Hs songs & music appeared in over 80 films between 1937-1947, many of which were uncredited. During this time and later in his career he was involved in musical crew roles for almost 50 films.

Edith Barrett - US Actress appearing in 20 films between 1941 - 1958 including In Love and War, and The Swan. She also appeared in a couple of "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" in the 1950's.

20th: Paula Wessely - Actress, appearing in around 30 films between 1934 and 1984.

Carlotta Monti - Actress. Amongst her film appearances she appeared as a girl in the 1933 King Kong, but was uncredited. She also appeared in Tarzan the Fearless, also 1933, as the Priestess of Zar.

21st: Toivo Kauppinen - Finish film writer of over 25 films and plays between 1938 - 1962.

22nd: Matty Roubert - US Actor. His film roles numbered over 100, and started as early as 1910 in Uncle Tom's Cabin, reported as a "lost film". Many of his parts were minor, such as a messenger or newsboy and were uncredited. He was also a stuntman in several films.

23rd: Dan Duryea, actor. He appeared in over 60 films between 1941-1968 including The Flight of the Phoenix and Five Golden Dragons. He also appeared in more than 50 TV programs including Bonanza, Burke's Law, Alfred Hitchcock Hour, Rawhide, Wagon Train etc. He died on 7th June 1968 from cancer.

Olive Hasbrouck - Actress appearing in over 30 films, many westerns, between 1924-1929. Many were main part's such as Miss Bronson in Clear the Decks and Ruth Elliot in The Royal Rider, both in 1929.

Bob Steele (I) - American Western Film Star. He appeared in almost 200 films spanning six decades, from The Adventures of Bob and Bill in 1920 to Nightmare Honeymoon in 1973. Characters included Tucson Smith, Billy The Kid, Marshal Dave Bliss in Hang Em High, and Duffy in The Great Bank Robbery.

27th: Joyce Compton - US Actress. She appeared in almost 150 films from the 1920's to the 1950's. Films include Girl in the Woods, The Persuader, Christmas in Connecticut and the silent 1920's movies What Fools Men and Broadway Lady.

28th: Charles Morton (I) - US Actor. Appearing in almost 50 films from the 1920's through to the 1960's, including the silent 1920's films Rich But Honest, Wolf Fangs and Colleen.

29th: Damian O'Flynn - Actor, appearing in almost 60 films from 1937 to 1963 including Lady Scarface and The Gay Falcon, both in 1941. He later appeared in TV Series Green Acres in 1965 and Batman in 1966, as well as appearances in Rawhide, Wagon Train and The Adventures of Superman in the 1950's.

Betty Sinclair - Actress with 14 film appearances from 1930 - 1950. Her first part was Mrs. Bigg in the comedy film Lightnin', the last being Mrs. Ningle in Something in the City.

Connie Van - Actress, mainly appearing uncredited in filmsin the 1950's.

8th: Mack Williams - Actor appearing in over 30 films of the 40's, 50's and 60's, including the 1962 Cape Fear, and also in TV series such as Perry Mason, 26 Men, Dragnet & Zorro. He died in 1965 of a heart attack.

Ray Middleton - Actor, appearing in around 20 films and TV series'. He was the voice of The Great Pepperino in the 1976 animated film Tubby the Tuba. He played Edwin P. Christy in I Dream of Jeannie in 1952, and appeared in M*A*S*H and Charlie's Angels.

10th: Grace Hamilton, first black member of Georgia state legislature.

János Makláry - Hungarian film actor, and brother of Zoltán Makláry.

Stephen Bekassy - actor, appearing in more than 20 films 1945-1962, including the Biography of Chopin - A Song to Remember, and the 1954 Hell and High Water.

11th: Anita Garvin, actress who appeared in almost 60 films between 1925 and 1940. She appeared as "the other woman" alongside Stan Laurel in the silent 1925 comedy movie, The Sleuth. She appeared as the Captains wife in the 1927 Laurel and Hardy comedy Why Girls Love Sailors, as well as other Laurel and Hardy films including With Love and Hisses, Sailors Beware, Hats Off, and as Olivers girlfriend in Their Purple Moment, and Mrs Laurel in Blotto and Be Big!.

12th: Joseph Kearns (I) - Actor. One of his roles was the voice of "The Doorknob" in the 1951 Disney classic Alice in Wonderland. He also appeared in episodes of Gunsmoke, Perry Mason, I Love Lucy and The Jack Benny Program. He died in 1962 of a heart attack.

14th: Johnny Longden - Thoroughbred racing jockey, who rode 6032 winning horses in a racing career that spanned almost 40 years. Also he played in the film, The Winner's Circle, from 1948. Also appearing in I Love Lucy. He died on his 96th birthday in 2003, after a stroke.

15th: Jan Langlais, composer.

Cesar Romero - actor appearing in over 100 films and more than 100 TV episodes. His first film part was in 1933 as Tony Rico in the murder mystery The Shadow Laughs, and a further 30 or so films during the remainder of the 1930's. The Cisco Kid was a well known part during the late 30's and early 40's, played by Romero in no less than 6 films. Parts continued right up until the 1990's, and he also appeared as the Joker, in the original 1966 Batman film, and as "vintage footage" in the 2003 Return to the batcave movie. Of his numerous TV guest appearances, worthy of mention are Murder She Wrote, The Golden Girls, Riptide, Hart to Hart, Charlie's Angels, Alias Smith and Jones, Rawhide, Burke's Law, Dr Kildare, Zorro, Wagon Train, and of course in the 1960's Batman series. He died on 1st January 1994.

16th: Alec Wilder - Composer- Credited with works such as the Original music to 1957's Pinocchio, 1958's Hansel and Gretel and 1961's The Sand Castle, amongst others. He died in December 1980.

George Woodbridge, born in Devon, England, he became and actor appearing in more than 80 films from 1938 until his death in 1973. Appearances include T.S.Eliot's Murder in the Cathedral from 1952, the part of Lord Mayor of London in Richard III from 1955, a Janitor at the Lab in the 1958 film The Revenge of Frankenstein, and the Landlord in Dracula from 1958 and Dracula: Prince of Darkness from 1966.

17th: Buster Crabbe (Larry Crabbe)- Actor appearing in over 100 films from 1930 - 1982. His first part was as a student with a pipe, in the comedy musical film Good News. Later in 1939 he went on to star as Buck Rogers, in the film of the same name. In 1940 he was Flash Gordon, more than 30 times as Billy the Kid/Billy Carson, in films such as The Kid Rides Again, The Renegade and Fugitive of the Plains. During the 50's, 60's and 70's he was Buck Rogers and Flash Gordon again, also playing Wyatt Earp in Badman's Country and Tarzan in the 1964 Tarzan the Fearless. His last part was Duke Montana in The Comeback Trail of 1982. He died of a heart attack in 1983.

18th: Oscar Brodney - Writer, of no less than 50 films spanning 5 decades. Amongst his works were the 1955 Lady Godiva and I'd Rather Be Rich from 1964.

Billy De Wolfe - Actor appearing in over 20 films from 1943 to 1974. He played Larry Blair in the film with Doris Day, Tea for Two in 1950, and was the voice of Professor Hinkle in Frosty the Snowman in 1969.

20th: Malcolm Atterbury - Actor appearing in over 40 films, and many more TV shows. Film parts include Deputy Al Malone in Alfred Hitchcock's 1963 thriller, The Birds and Lt. Dunlap in Blood of Dracula from 1957. TV appearances included Little House on the Prairie, Gunsmoke, Bonanza, The Fugitives, Rawhide, Dr Kildare, Perry Mason, Wagon Train and Dragnet. He died in 1992.

Art Dillard - Actor, appearing in more than 160 western films, mostly as a Henchman in the 1930's and 1940's, but also as a gambler, robber, and saloon fighter, He appeared in many of the Billy The Kid films, also in The Lone Ranger films. He also played many parts in The Gene Autry Show in 1950.

21st: W. H. Auden, poet, educated at Oxford.

22nd: Sheldon Leonard - Actor, Producer, Director. Appearing in more than 80 films between 1936 and 1978, his first part was that of LeStrange, the overseer in the horror film, Ouanga. He played Ed 'Wires' McGuire in The Last Crooked Mile from 1946, the Auctioneer from the 1947 Sinbad the Sailor, Great Mogul in The Diamond Queen from 1953, Harry the Horse in the 1955 musical Guys and Dolls and J. Edgar Hoover in The Brink's Job of 1978. He was also Executive Producer of the Andy Griffith Show, and The Dick van Dyke Show (which he also appeared in) in the early 1960's. Amonsgt his other TV appearances were The Littlest Hobo, Murder She Wrote, Cheers, The Cosby Show and I Love Lucy.

Robert Young - Actor, appearing in over 100 films. His career began in 1928 with the silent comedy The Campus Vamp, for which he was uncredited. Later in 1936 he plays an American playboy - Tommy Randall with Alive Faye and Shirley Temple in Stowaway. He plays more lead roles in films such as Married Before Breakfast in 1937, Three Comrades in 1938, Bridal Suite in 1939 and Dr. Kildare's Crisis in 1940. He is kept busy during the 40's with a constant stream of films including the Claudia and David in 1946 and Sitting Pretty in 1948, but roles tail off during the 1950's, although he appears on TV up until the end of the 1980's.

25th: Shimen Ruskin - Actor, appearing in almost 40 films 1938-1975. His first role was as Shrimpo in Having Wonderful Time, had a minor part in Orson Welles' Citizen Kane in 1941, and continued to gain minor parts in films such as Good Luck Mr. Yates, Dark Passage, Bride for Sale and Donovan's Brain. In 1971 he played Mordcha in the film adaptation of the Musical Fiddler on the Roof.

March

2nd: Patrick Whyte - Actor appearing in over 20 films from 1948-1973. Parts include Dr. Frederick Buckell in the low budget 1959 "horror" Hideous Sun Demon and Phillip Varden in the 1964 crime drama Kitten with a Whip. His last part is as Cartier in the 1973 TV movie, Drive Hard, Drive Fast. He also appeared in episodes of The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin in the 1950's, and Batman, Maverick and The Twilight Zone. He died in June 1984.

George Lollier - Actor appearing in nearly 20 films during the 1930's and 1940's. Mainly small or uncreditde parts in films such as Annie Oakley from 1935, Paid to Dance in 1937 and Three Men from Texas in 1940. He died in 1971.

3rd: Canada Lee - actor appearing in a handful of films including the part of Henry Jackson's trainer in Keep Punching in 1939 and George 'Joe' Spencer in Hitchcocks 1944 war drama film, Lifeboat. His last film was in 1951 with Sidney Poitier in 'Cry, the Beloved Country'. He died in May 1952 from a heart attack.

4th: Edgar Barrier - actor appearing in over 50 films from 1938-1963. He had parts in films such as Arabian Nights from 1942, Phantom of the Opera in 1943, Rocky in 1948 and The Giant Claw in 1957. He died in 1964 from a heart attack.

12th: Katharine Hepburn, Academy Award-winning actress. During her 60-year career, she was nominated for Academy Awards a record 12 times, and won the Oscars for Morning Glory (1933), Guess Who's Coming To Dinner (1967), A Lion In Winter (1968) and On Golden Pond (1981). Hepburn's most popular films include The Philadelphia Story, Bringing Up Baby and African Queen. She married just once, briefly, and her name was linked to Howard Hughes and other famous men. The great love of her life however, was Spencer Tracy. They made nine films together and remained very close friends until his death in 1967. She died at her home in Old Saybrook, Connecticut, aged 96.

13th: Daphne Du Maurier, English novelist, the Daphne Du Maurierdaughter of Sir Gerald Du Maurier and granddaughter of novelist George Du Maurier. She was born in London, and educated in Paris, but lived most of her life in Cornwall. She was best known for romances and adventure stories, including "Jamaica Inn" (1936), "Rebecca" (1938). "Frenchman's Creek" (1942) and "My Cousin Rachel" (1951). Her short story, "The Birds," was made into a film in 1963 by Alfred Hitchcock. She died in 1989.
