Estonia 2002 - Tallinn by boat (the journey back to Stockholm)
The journey back to Stockholm

Karolina with a new friend on board the Fantaasia 29-9-2002. Photograph by Sean Creech (c) 2002The boat pulled off at around 6.00 Estonian time, and there wasn't much else to do except visit the bar. Karolina hears a lottery is due later, so desperately searches for the lottery seller. Eventually the woman appears selling the last 2 tickets, which Karolina buys. Each ticket comes with a free flower, a free beer would be nicer perhaps. Karolina also decides that tonight is the night she gets drunk, so after a few drinks, starts taking photos of my feet. We watch the entertainment which is along the lines of the previous night, just with a different singer this time (perhaps they overheard our comments and sacked the other one). The birthday boy is announced, only to find he has already gone to bed (probably drunk). The lottery is announced, although no one comes forward to claim the bag of prizes on offer, and sadly there is no re-draw. At some point Karolina suggests to the hot dog seller outside that he should move inside as there are more potential customers. The night moves on, now 10pm, we are both a little drunk, so return to the cabin for a few drinks before heading to the Karaoke bar. Dancers on board the Fantaasia 29-9-2002. Photograph by Karolina Karlsson or Sean Creech (c) 2002 We arrive at the karaoke to find just a handful of people, and also that it is nearly all over "so you better hurry up and choose a song". We choose, then sit down to talk to this Estonian guy with a hat, and give a flower to another Estonian man.
We start dancing to a mediocre rendition of something (name escapes me now), performed by someone who resembles one our our indian friends. It's then our turn and we blast out Richard Marx's "Hazard" to a packed (hehe) audience, who are probably all too drunk to appreciate our fantastic voices. Still, we get some applause and make our exit. We walk back to the show downstairs, Karolina takes some photos, then to be told "Your not made of glass even if you think so", "just go away", by a rather obnoxious German person (maybe he wasn't German but he looked like it). We leave for a toilet break, then Sean suggests going back to photograph the 'German'. He's not there though (maybe he knows we are looking for him). We stand around in reception now for a bit I think, until we run into some people we don't know. One of these is turns out to be from Northern Ireland, we only meet him due to the fact he loses his pants somehow, and ask him if they are his. He was as confused as we were, and it was like "where did you get my pants from?"...He disappears soon. Sean with new friends on board the Fantaasia 29-9-2002. Photograph by Karolina Karlsson (c) 2002 We watch some more of the dancing in one of the bars, not sure what the time is now. We meet up again with some of the people we met in reception earlier, Uwe from Åland (island between Sweden and Finland), his friend, Hamid (the bald man, whom Uwe hadn't seen for 13 years), and a finnish person called Peter we think. Sean returns to the other bar to find the 'German' again, and speaks to him, only to be told "I'm not interested in talking to you"....(German accent). Sean doesn't bother continuing the conversation (or hitting him), and returns to the other bar again. We talk about stuff, and we pass some time drinking and chatting......it's too misty for details, we do remember though, they were nice people! Eventually we sleep and before we know it are rudely awoken by the announcements in 3 languages. We leave the boat and make our way home again...Yes it was fun...
