Sorunda Church

Sorunda Church, Photograph by Sean Creech (c) 2002 This is one of the largest churches in Södermanland. Oldest parts of the church originate from the 12th century, but enlarged and altered right up until the 16th century. The noble families Bååth and Fleming, owners of the large estates of Fållnäs and Fituna, in nearby settlements used the church for their funerals. The families have been important for the rich ornamentation of the church. The chapel of the Bååth family is the oldest Christian chapel for a noble family in the whole of Sweden.
