The quiet of the early morning at Caroline’s TARDIS, which happened to be parked next to the lake on this—well, early morning, was rudely disturbed by a clone running down the hallways screaming at the top his lungs.
“The sky is falling down! THE SKY IS FALLING DOWN!”
Caroline woke wearily at the sound of her clone shouting and got up to see what all the fuss was about.
“EM? What’s going on?”
Caroline managed to catch him before he became in yelling distance of the children’s rooms.
“Why, Caroline,” he answered politely “the sky is falling down.”
“What?! No it isn’t, the sky can’t fall down!”
“Oh, but it is. Within hours everything will have been smothered by the killer sky! We must act fast! Warn the people before it’s too late! SOS! Man overboard!” EM had begun to ramble, and before he was able to run off again, Caroline grabbed him.
“EM, have you been talking with Vertigo?”
“Vertigo? I’m sure I have no idea who you mean.” EM answered innocently.
“Oh, don’t give me that. You know who Vertigo is.”
“But I surely do not!”
“Try again.” Caroline waited for EM to come up with an answer.
“Oh, you mean Vertigo, that Peter clone who insists on believing he is a bird?”
“Yes, that’s him. You’ve been talking with him, haven’t you?”
“No...” EM tried to lie, but knew he couldn’t get past Caroline’s glare. “And by no, I mean maybe, by which I mean yes.”
“I thought so. Let me tell you something. The sky is not falling down!” Caroline watched EM jump at the sound of her raised voice with some satisfaction. “Now go off an play like a good little Micky clone...”
EM frowned, then pouted at Caroline, who gave him a stern look back. He sighed dejectedly, and turned away, intent on causing havoc elsewhere.
Caroline watched him saunter to the exit. She shook her head as soon as he had gone, knowing that he was going to try and tell the rest of the inhabitants in Trotondown and Long_Title that the sky was indeed falling down early this morning.
“Well,” Caroline said to herself “at least he’s not doing it here.” And with a smile, she climbed back into bed.
