First task is to be prepared. Scouts honour. I consult my trusty supply kit for supplies. Weaponry (washing basket and gloves), protection (gas mask), first aid (band aid) and food (food).
Once all is ready, I begin the search. Vegetation is thick and it is removed with the ease of a master who is master of whatever he is master at.
The mission is a solitary one, and that is exactly why I must keep my mind on the job at hand, for if I let my mind wander many dangers may arise; for my lack of concentration can be deadly. But never fear Explorer Micky is always careful to keep his mind on the job at hand, for if he lets it wander many dangers may arise; for lack of concentration can be deadly... Oh, wait... I did that bit already...
Anyway, the search is grueling. Oh so very grueling! This is a tough assignment. I must remind myself constantly to keep looking...
“Ooh! Look what I found! I’ve been looking for this for ages!”
Some time later.
“Micky!” Mike called as he loped up the stairs to the bedroom “You’ve been up there an hour! It can’t be that hard...” Mike stopped and stared at Micky.
“What?”
“An hour. You’ve been up here an hour and all you’ve managed to do is find one sock?!”
“But Mike, I found this! Do you *know* how long I’ve been looking for this?” he waved the object Mike’s his face.
“Micky, you bought that comic this morning.” Mike replied pushing it away.
Micky gave Mike a ‘So what?’ look. Sighing, Mike threw up his hands in defeat. “Ok, fine. You can come to the Laundromat, and wash your single sock, and read your lost comic from this morning, but don’t expect me to let you borrow any of my *clean* clothes.”
“Aww, but Mike...” Micky whined
“No buts, Mick. You brought this upon yourself. We’re leaving in a couple of minutes.”
I watched the Texan Shaving Monster go. What a sad, sad day. I had been defeated! Oh the shame! Oh the humanity of it all! What am I to do? I must think quickly...
Micky slid down the banister, full bag of washing slung over his back. Mike frowned at him.
“Micky, where in the world did you come up with that?”
“Last months washing.” He replied with a shrug and went out to the car.
Mike looked at him. “Why do I even ask?”
