Bronze Statue
Appears to be bronze and possible Greek. We believe this may be a modern reproduction (still around 200 years old) due to the bad filing of the sides (where the mould possibly met). Seems to be holding a bird or similar. Originally thought to be the Egyption goddess Isis but there are doubts due to the style of the crown/crest which appears to be in an ancient Greek style.
These pictures are actual size, and weighs a little under 1kg. This bought along with 3 other pottery artifacts (featured) from an stolen/recovered auction in Leicester. No idea what the past history of this item is. Dated around 1800's for a souvenier for travellers and explorers, so it is thought. Value is still to be researched. Any information on this item would be appreciated as this is not an area that I am familliar.
