Horse riding in the beautiful woods and on the open heaths of the New Forest, Hampshire, southern England, from the New Forest Riding Centre at Applemore, near Marchwood, Southampton. Escorted riding at all levels.

HOME

The forest rides commence in New Forest woodland that starts at the border of the Riding Centre. Riders with some experience continue on across the extensive and open heaths and lawns (greens). They will enter stretches of forest and now and again ford the New Forest streams. (Incidently, please note that although some riders here are shown in hot weather conditions and thus with only light clothing, it is recommended for safety reasons that riders wear some type of long-sleeved arm protection.)

The open heaths of the forest are excellent for hacking in beautiful scenary. Pub Rides take riders out for several hours through a variety of heathland trails, causeways across boggy ground, pine plantations, ancient oak woodland and wide grassy greens or New Forest lawns.
