About the Author

In her lifetime, Agatha Christie wrote a total of 79 mystery stories and 14 plays, including the lngest running play in history, entitled The Mousetrap .

She draws the reader into a story which usually starts out with a murder being committed, and somebody, (may it be Hercule Poirot, Miss Jane Marple, or Mister Parker Pyne) is around to descover who the murderer is. The case takes on strange twists, and in the course of the main part of the story, there are usually around 2 more people dying making a total of 3 dead people. By this time Hercule Poirot is cursing himself for being so stupid and not seeing what was going on right before him, and Miss Marple is smiling knowingly to herself. Then the detective reveals who the murderer is, and all is well.

In her books she many are about the investigations of her 2 main detectives who I mentioned before. They are M. Hercule Poirot, a brilliant little man with an egg shaped head, and Miss Jane Marple, and elderly spinster living in the (not always so quiet) town of St. Mary Mead. She also has several collections of short storys, and a man named Nr. Parker Pyne, who usually doesn't deal with murders, but instead making people happy (you'll have to read a story about him to understand what I mean.)
