On a scroll of air,
sweetly scented and rare,
God wrote a poem.
He wrote of tears,
love and courage over the years
enclosed in beauty.
Then at my bedtime
He lay this harmonious rhyme
softly down by me.
A day without sense
suddenly had consequence.
And I was at peace.
Absent all hoopla,
I rediscovered Barbara --
form of the poem.
