THE EARTH TURNED
The earth turned and I lost the sunset.
It went north of Herndon Boulevard where the beautiful people live.
I had been enjoying it all spring.
And just that carelessly the cosmos spun a little spin and I was left a
darkening sky.
And so it was with Barbara.
The earth turned and took her too away
north of Herndon where the beautiful people live.
The earth turned half a turn and turned her away from me.
And I was left with the empty spot where once lived a most marvelous
love.
