NEVER DOUBT MY LOVE

Doubt if you will all else of me
But never doubt my love of thee.
Doubt the sun on the morrow might shine
Or the ocean be filled with brine.
Doubt too the sky and the ocean be blue.
Doubt a heart could accrue
More pain than it could contain,
Or that gray clouds come with rain.
Doubt also the love of Romeo
For young Juliet so long ago,
The length of poor Cyranno’s nose,
Or the sweet fragrance of the red delicious rose.
Doubt if you will, your own ethereal beauty.
Doubt the softness of a baby,
Doubt that a church bell can ring,
Or that I have heard a plaintive Fairy sing.
Doubt the honeybee stores its wealth in a comb,
Or that heaven will be your home.
Doubt the soft whiteness of the dove,
But please never again doubt my love.
