SOFTNESS IN THE NIGHT

You wished me peace, so I cannot wish you that.
And I already wished you softness, so that one is taken.
Today, this afternoon, I wish you the sweet smells of a bakery of a morning, fully burning, brightly lit and hot.
For the peace wish me,I give you tears, honest, ancient and manly tears.
Attesting to the adoration I bear the woman singing there.
And then, in return, you wished me well, wished me softness in the night.
Once in college a girl wished me well, more like a farewell.
She had a joyous buoyancy and like a high flying kite in a warm summer’s breeze, she lazily wafted away as did the kite freed of its string.
