I live on an island where there is no more land-space to move out into... We live on a planet which is becoming ever more populated. Creating mind-space to explore may have value for all of us... Within Lines
This piece begins to be what I would call mixed media... colored pencil, water soluble ink and watercolor. Wet and dry passages, value range and complementary colors add elemens of contrast... I like the diagonal (energy) of the colored pencil. It has a scumbling effect like crayon over stone... |
Drifting Within
Playing with the initial layers of color is exciting to me. Quite a bit of this initial area is left unaltered in this piece. This study became a small painting almost exactly as it is here. The painting is entitled "Elements of Space". |
