A Short Note Concerning LoO

I began "Legacy of Old" in November 2001, three months after stumbling into the HP fandom. At the time my grasp of writing and fanfiction in general was reasonably good, I suppose, but not perfect. Compare this to any newer piece of HP fic from me and there probably isn't any sort of comparison. The early chapters of this fic aren't perfect and the fic as a whole needs work (I only got betas at around Chapter 14). Part of this is the perfectionist in me talking, but it's been over two years since I started LoO: I've changed as a writer as well.
Also, ask anyone who's been reading this from the start and they'll tell you they probably want to kill me for the length of time it takes me to get out chapters. Nothing I can do about that, I'm afraid - it's just the way I write the chapters for this fic.
I don't really know why I'm writing this (it's probably a subconscious reaction to comments said long ago!), but I guess I'm asking you to accept this fic, warts and all (and there are probably many of them!). I'm still proud of this fic, no matter how much criticism I toss at it, and I will definitely rework it eventually.
So..
Back to the fic, already!
