In this section of my page I will talk about places of safety in Castlevania II:Simon's Quest. Now obviously these places of safety are the towns. Here is a list of the towns and everything they contain so you know where to go!

Here is a list of the clues and what they mean. It is very hard for a beginner to make sense of this stuff because it is so vague. You have to be a seasoned veteran to really figure them out. So here they are in their entirety.

Jova | A flame is on top of the 6th tree in Denis Woods. | False | Later in the game when you do stumble upon Denis Woods, you'll find that all the trees are simply dead. |
Jova | Rumor has it, the ferry man at the dead end loves garlic. | False | He despises garlic, he only accepts Dracula's Heart. |
Jova | A magic potion will destroy the wall of evil. | Vague | If Holy Water is considered a magic potion then this clue is true. At the end of the game when you encounter the Wall of Evil that blocks the North Bridge, you use Holy Water powered by the Magic Cross to destroy the wall. |
Jova | Clues to Dracula's riddle are in the town of Veros. | True | This clue is clear. | Jova | You have a friend in the town of Aldra. Go and see him. | True | Refers to Crystal Trader. This clue is clear but comes into use when you enter Western Transylvania in the second half of the game. |

Aljiba | Dracula's Eyeball reflects the curse. | False | The proper use for the Eyeball is to spy on Riddle Clues. |

Aldra | Get a silk bag from the graveyard duck to live longer. | True | Tells you to go to the graveyard and talk to the old gypsy where you can get a silk bag letting you carry more laurels. In my Webster's, the word duck is also in reference to a rule breaker or recluse. |

An old gypsy holds a diamond in front of Deborah Cliff. | True | This is true yet may seem confusing to a begginer because it's on another side of Deborah Cliff, the one behind Brahm Mansion. |
Destroy the Curse with Dracula's Heart. | True | It means you lift the curse from the Dead River when you show the ferryman Dracula's Heart. |
Garlic in the graveyard summons a stranger. | True | Drop garlic in all graveyards except Vrad's and a gypsy will appear. |
A symbol of evil will appear when you strike the stake. | True | When you strike the stake's on the crystal balls in mansions, a part of Dracula's body appears being a symbol of evil. |
Destroy the curse and you'll rule Brahm's Mansion. | True | Break the curse over the Dead River and you'll be able to enter Brahm's Mansion. Once Death is defeated, I guess you rule it. |
A flame flickers inside the ring of fire. | False | As far as I know, there is no ring of fire. |

Dracula's evil knife blurs Camilla's vision. | True | If you throw the gold knife you got from Death at Camilla, she'll be temporarily blinded and won't move. |
Clear a path at Berkeley Mansion with a White Crystal. | True | Use the White Crystal at the start of Berkeley Mansion in order to see the floating platform. |
