Ixia lutea var. lutea (syn. I.conferta)

The lovely Ixia lutea var. lutea (syn. I.conferta) above with its unusual colour and exquisite dark centre

• Conferta: close together;
• Grows in Western and Southern Cape of South Africa;
• Distribution: Clanwilliam south to Paarl;
• Deciduous;
• Winter-growing;
• September-October;
• 15-33 cm, sometimes up to 50 cm;
• Inflorescence usually simple, three to eight flowered;
• Flowers large, cream or pale yellow with a large, brownish or purplish-brown markings in the centre;
• Leaves up to 25cm;
• Plants grow in clay and gravel soils on flats and hills;
