backseat banter

we're not soulmates--
simply lovers,
bodies seeking
satisfaction
in the backseat
of your chevy
parked beside this
country road

and if only
you would love me
we could be much
more than this,
but from your lips
pour excuses
that i fear may
not be slowed

i want only
you to hold me
tight against your
manly chest
as you whisper
candied nothings
in my desperate,
eager ear

and with my legs
i pull closer
as you deeply
penetrate me...
for one moment
i will have you
as our spirits
mingle here

bodies climax
as minds wander
for my soul is
soaring swiftly
to a place where
i am loved by
you and you are
mine to hold

your dark skin is
hot and fevered
as you press up
hard against me,
but as warm as
your hands touch me,
your green eyes still
look so cold

for i know that
you are thinking
of your other
little lady...
waiting for you
in your shared bed,
sad and lonely,
her tears fall

and as often
as i hide it,
my heart only
beats for you...
you may love her
in the darkness
but i need you
most of all

one last kiss and
then you leave me
standing on my
front porch fumbling
with my jumbled
thoughts and keychains
while your taillights
fade away

and i watch as
darkness swallows
the last pieces
of our passion,
knowing fully
that i'll give in
when you feel the
urge to play
