Perched in the store window,
Displayed for public view,
I sit in my dollhouse.
I'm waiting here for you.
Porcelain encased my heart.
My soul is sheltered by the cold.
My eyes, unseeing, hide in glass.
Frozen in time; I won't grow old.
My cheeks flush with painted pink
And this sweet smile is frozen on.
Though body's purity remains,
The innocence I had is gone.
I cannot sleep as well alone,
For I once lingered in your arms.
Your sweet words and tender kiss
Just added to your impish charms.
The store closes; still I'm waiting.
Someone has clicked off the light.
I'm here in my house of darkness,
Still missing your kind face tonight.
