Eden

I had a dream of Paradise,
Where you were Adam, I was Eve,
And naked bodies did suffice,
For modesty had taken leave.

So pure was Heaven. . . this was bliss.
We danced and pranced on beds of grass.
Each soft and sultry splendid kiss
Was picture perfect as blown glass.

And then at once Temptation came.
A serpent coiled and slithered near.
Deceit flickered in my eyes.
My Innocence yielded to fear.

Then I offered you an apple.
Trusting me, your teeth sank in.
A clap of thunder overhead,
And God exiled us for our Sin.
