Parody

your love was a summer rainstorm,
catching me off-guard,
exposed,

helpless to defend my melting sugar-skin
from the rapid,
rising flood
of candied nothings

that gushed through
the crumbling dam
of your mouth

a swift saturation:
your words sought shelter
in my soul;

like a kind immigration officer
at Ellis Island,
I let you into Eden

you filled me with your scent;
my own fragrance faded,
diluted by the thick essence
of you

i became you-
a carbon copy-
a silicone clone:
one of many
mass-produced mistresses

your dreams meshed with mine,
and i fulfilled your fantasies so often
that i lost my sense
of self

i was a helpless puppet
in your parody
of happiness:

outwardly smiling,
your thick arm shoved
up my ass.
